The Oxford English Dictionary defines the word secular as ‘not subject to or bound by religious rule’. The Webster dictionary defines secularism as ‘A system of doctrines and practices that reject any form of religious faith and worship’. Secularism is ‘the belief’ that man is governed by his own mind and desires and thus sets and changes the laws as and when he needs to, or when the society feels the need to do so. There is no doubt that secularism contradicts Islam in every aspect! They are two completely different paths that never meet. Choosing one means rejecting the other!

 

The fundamental aim of secularism, in order to promote the world above all things, is to separate man’s religion from his everyday life and this has been successful in almost all religions today (Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism etc) except Islam. Secularism is compatible with the western concept of God that maintains that after God had created the world, He left it to look after itself. In this sense, God’s relationship with the world is like that of a watchmaker with a watch; he makes it then leaves it to function without any need for him. Islam on the other hand, is a comprehensive system of worship (‘ibadah) and legislation (Shariah). The acceptance of secularism means abandonment of Shariah, a denial of the Divine Guidance and a rejection of Allah’s injunctions.

 

Take Heed O Muslims! Those who subscribe to and promote this ideology (secularists) are those who are in opposition to Allah and His Messenger (S.A.W.) as they aim to take man away from the guidance of, and servitude to Allah and instead make man a slave to his desires to the point that he/ she becomes a Kaafir (disbeliever) after having believed in Allah and Muhammad (S.A.W.).

 

“Never will the Jews nor the Christians be pleased with you until you follow their religion. Say: ‘Verily the guidance of Allah that is the (only) guidance. And if you were to follow their (Jews and Christians) desires after what you have received of knowledge, then you would have against Allah neither any Wali (Protector or Guardian) nor any helper’ ”                                                                                                                                                                                          (Al Baqarah: 120)

 

Apart from waging a brutal and unholy war on Muslims, the aggressive and godless secularists are waging a quieter but more damaging war against Islam and its true followers. Through its seemingly shiny but truly deceptive tools such as democracy, free market trade, capitalism, pluralism and human rights, secularism brainwashes the world into believing that success and happiness lies in the secular approach, as religions are outdated and old fashioned! The acceptance of legislation formulated by man means a preference of mans limited knowledge and experience above the All Knowing and All Wise guidance of the Creator and Owner of all things.

 

“Say! Do you know better or does Allah?”                                      (Al Baqarah: 140)

 

What is even more shocking is the ignorance that dominates some Muslim minds. We have the Qur’an and Sunnah of Muhammad (S.A.W.) yet Muslims are calling others to the ‘good’ that secularism has to offer! Can a system of governing the daily affairs of our lives, a system that rejects Allah’s rule with no exception and prefers regulations other than that of Allah and His Rasul (S.A.W.) contain any ‘good’?

 

“Do they then seek the judgement of (the days of) ignorance? And who is better in judgement than Allah for a people who have firm faith”

                                                                                                            (Al Ma’idah: 50) 

 

Under the pretext of bringing “liberation and reform” to the world, the secularists are using every means possible to establish their deen (way of life) and to destroy Islam from within and we must be aware of at least some of these evil practices which we have become so accustomed to accepting.

 

The strongest form of indoctrination that Muslims undergo is at the hands of the carefully controlled mass media (TV, Radio, Newspapers), who say and show only that which will further their evil plans. It is due to this that you have Muslims using terms such as “suicide bomber, militant, extremist and fundamentalist” when referring to their Muslim brothers and sisters.

 

“And of mankind there is he whose speech about this world’s life may please you and he calls Allah to witness to that which is in his heart, yet he is the most rigid of enemies”                                                                                            (Al Baqarah: 204)

 

Through excessive exposure to their filthy entertainment industry (movies, TV shows, music, & the arts) the moral values of Muslims have begun to disappear as Muslims embrace these means of entertainment & regard it as harmless fun not realizing the damaging effect on Muslims and society in general. Some of these harmful effects include the following:

 

1) The practise of sex outside of marriage and belief that it is ok;

2) Muslim children being rude and rebelling against their parents and believing that it is ok;

3) Muslims cheating, lying and deceiving themselves and others in order to make more money and believing that it is ok;

4) Muslims who believe that sodomy/ lesbianism and the like should be accepted as choices of the individual and

5) Muslims who believe that Islamic dress requirements are too “restrictive or oppressive”. All of these beliefs breed hypocrisy in the hearts.

 

“And when it is said to them: “Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger (S.A.W.),” you see the hypocrites turn away from you in disgust”                                                                                                     (An Nisa: 61)

 

Due to extensive interaction with people of ideologies that are opposed to belief in and submission to Allah alone, Muslims have neglected or choose to overlook the perfect system of governance prescribed by Allah, Al Hakim (The One who Legislates law) and applied  by His Final Messenger (S.A.W.)

 

“The Hukm (legislation) is for none but Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him, that is the straight religion, but most men know not”                                                                                                               (Yusuf: 40)

 

O you who believe! Do not place your faith in the disastrous man-made systems such as communism, socialism, democracy and various others that make lawful (Halaal) what Allah has made unlawful (Haraam) and vice versa (e.g. Adultery, killing of unborn babies). Amongst these is Riba (interest/ usury) which is the path to a declaration of war from Allah Almighty!

 

By touching on the natural instinct of man to own and possess, Muslims are brainwashed into believing that the economic process of capitalism, whose backbone is Riba, is the most beneficial system of economy for all people. What they choose not to mention is that capitalism is the new colonial power of the world, creating an oppression never seen before.

 

Muslims educated in the godless secular ‘learning’ institutions are either taught about evolution/ Darwinism or that all religions are equal and merely different means to get closer to Allah! We then find the seeds of this disease starting to sprout as Muslims begin the self-destructive process of accepting certain aspects of Islam and ignoring other areas, thus becoming like the Jews.

 

“Then do you believe in a part of the Book and reject the rest?”

                                                                                                            (Al Baqarah: 85)

 

Dear Muslim! The enemies of Allah seek to corrupt your purpose, goal and intention by paving your path to the Hellfire! Do not be fooled by the glitter and glamour that will soon fade.

 

“Whosoever desires the life of the world and its glitter, to them We shall pay in full their deeds therein…”                                                                                (Hud: 15)

 

Realise the evil before your eyes and safeguard your Eemaan! Do not allow yourself to be distracted by the enemies of your Lord, Allah! They seek your destruction through doubt and separation of your affairs from Islam! They seek the destruction of the Ummah of Muhammad (S.A.W.) by placing material temptations before you so that you love and choose Dunya over Akhirah. This is the Wahn (love of this world and dislike of death) that Rasulullah (S.A.W.) referred to in the Hadeeth recorded in the Sunan of Abu Dawud. It is not sufficient for a Muslim to simply believe in Allah – but < SPAN lang=EN style="FONT-SIZE: 8.5pt; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana; mso-ansi-language: EN">one must disbelieve in and reject everything that is worshipped besides Allah.

 

“Whoever disbelieves in all false deities (Taghut) and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break"                                                                                                               (Al Baqarah: 256) 

 

Islam has come to free man from the slavery of obedience and  worship of man & man-made systems by guiding man to the natural harmony (Fitrah) and tranquility that is found only in worshipping Allah alone.

 

O Muslim! Does your obedience lie with Allah and His Messenger (S.A.W.) or does your obedience lie with those who oppose them?
