Procedure to be followed in Case of a Janaza

• If janaza salâh is confirmed for a specific time then at least ½ hour (half an hour) before janaza salâh time, the family members should start preparing to lift the janaza in order to proceed to the qabrastân.
• The hearse should proceed to the qabrastân at least 20 minutes before the stipulated janaza salâh time.
• In case of a big jamât being present for a janaza salâh, it is suggested that the janaza salâh be read directly in front of the jamât khana rather than going to the bottom of the qabrastân.

1. People having to walk down to the qabrastân delay the janaza salâh.
2. Old people find it difficult to walk down.
3. The wudhu facilities are at the jamât khana.
4. The section immediately in front of the jamât khana can accommodate any large jamât.

The Janaza of the late Marhûm/ah___________________________________________________

Address_____________________________________________________________ (e.g. 5 Masjid Road)

will leave home at __________ (e.g. 9.30 pm)

Janaza salâh will be performed at _____________ (e.g. 10.00 pm)

Delaying the janaza for late comers is a practice which is not in keeping with the spirit of Islâm and makes it difficult and inconvenient for those brothers who are waiting to perform the salâh. To inconvenience a fellow muslim brother is harâm.
