Chechnya: The hidden War within the Open War

The Russian Military often reverts to the international media to disseminate false reports that large groups of Mujahideen are being killed or captured. Such false reports are published to conceal the weaknesses and numerous defeats suffered by Russia during the war. Many reports of 'Mujahideen being killed or captured' are in fact showing defenceless civilians being slaughtered. However, despite lacking credibility, Russia continues to depend on this tactic to twist facts and portray a false image of the war's reality. Among the many reasons why this axis of unbelief is resorting to misinforming the public, with little opposition, are:

Undermining the morale of Muslims and spreading a sense of defeatism throughout the Ummah.
Raising the morale of Russian soldiers and other unbelievers who are trying (unsuccessfully) to defeat Islam and the Mujahideen.
Russia will not report the victories of the Mujahideen because this would energise the Muslims and unify them - such feelings of Muslim strength and success would undermine the unbelievers' agenda to wreck Ummah.
The control of Jewish fascists over Western media intensifies the campaign to tarnish the image of Muslims, even if they were defending their lives and territories.
To tarnish the image of the Mujahideen and to undermine the concept of Jihad in every way shape or form. One example of this was blaming the Mujahideen for starting the war in Chechnya, even though several Russian officers and the former Prime Minister of Russia, Sergei Stepashin, have admitted that Russia planned the war many months before the war actually started.
The Islamic media does not enjoy a sufficient degree of independence and depend on Western media for news and information.
Trying to show Muslims that the West and Russia are not against Islam. If the unbelievers were not against Islam, why did they threaten military action and economic sanctions in the case of East Timor, but ignore the plight of Muslims in Palestine, Kashmir and the Caucasus?
Attempting to break the unity of Islamic scholars and students of Divine Law by circulating false rumours and lies about alleged 'disunity' or 'competing sects.'

All Muslims should beware of reports published by Western and other unbelieving media; moreover, Muslims should recognise the fact that many so-called Arab and Islamic media channels depend on Western sources for information. Most important of all, Muslims should avoid listening to those who slander the Mujahideen and try to sow discord among them. Allāh has warned us to beware the reports of those who commit multitudes of sins [fasiq] how then can we listen to those who disbelieve in Allāh and wage war against Islam:

"O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person [fasiq] comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done." (Surah Al-Hujuraat: Ayah 6)
